TikTok Notes, the Instagram rival photo app, has been quietly launched. The social media application, which will be available in certain regions for now, will directly move TikTok users to an Instagram-like service.

TikTok Notes allows users to share photos in an app interface similar to Instagram. It also allows users to view multiple posts at the same time and view photos in full screen.
Users can also leave comments on posts. The app includes many of Instagram’s core services such as the photo gallery, chronological and algorithmic discovery feature. TikTok users can also switch to TikTok Notes directly from their account. They will also be able to link their profiles between the two apps.

TikTok Notes seems to be available only in Canada for now. Although it is available for Android and iOS, it has not yet been officially announced by TikTok. Screenshots from users have confirmed that the app is available for Canada.
This suggests that TikTok is testing TikTok Notes ahead of the global launch. The company faces competition in the photo-sharing space from big services like Instagram and Snapchat. But it wants to attract its user base to this platform.
The company, which aims to strengthen its community and increase interaction by increasing users’ sharing, will only include photo-oriented content with its Instagram-like Notes application. However, it can also show TikTok content in the application.
