Intel’s next-generation Core Ultra 7 258V and AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processors are going head-to-head in the gaming world. YouTuber ETA Prime put both of these powerful processors to the test in a handheld console simulation to see how they stack up. The results are quite striking. Here are the details…
Intel Core Ultra 7 258V and AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme tested: Here are the results
The first playtest was Shadow of the Tomb Raider. At 1080p resolution and medium graphics settings, Intel’s Arc 140V graphics unit hit 66 FPS at 25W TDP, while AMD’s Radeon 780M GPU was a step behind at 49 FPS.
When we lowered the TDP to 17W, Intel achieved 53 FPS and AMD achieved 43 FPS. These results showed that Intel was ahead in gaming performance even at low power consumption. However, things changed in the Forza Horizon 5 test.
Again at 1080p resolution and on medium settings, this time at 25W TDP AMD took the lead, achieving 75 FPS, compared to Intel’s 55 FPS. When power consumption was reduced to 17W, AMD scored 59 FPS, beating Intel’s score of 39 FPS.
In another popular game, Cyberpunk 2077, Intel once again took the upper hand. At 25W TDP, Intel’s 120 FPS narrowly beat AMD’s 115 FPS, while at 17W, the two processors came very close, with Intel achieving 42 FPS and AMD 40 FPS.
Finally, in Black Myth: Wukong, AMD took the lead with 37 FPS, beating Intel’s score of 34 FPS. But the overall picture is that Intel and AMD’s two processors are very close in different games.
