Intel’s decline in the Chinese market has accelerated. The latest data reveals that the company has lost serious blood even in the desktop processor segment, where it has traditionally been strong. AMD immediately filled this gap.
Intel continues to decline in the Chinese market
According to the latest information, AMD increased its processor market share in the country to close to 50 per cent in the first quarter of 2025. This is the highest Chinese market share in the company’s history.

The failure of the last generation processors to meet expectations played an important role in Intel’s decline. The Arrow Lake family, known as the Core Ultra 200S series, failed to deliver the performance increase promised before the launch.
Software updates for these processors were also insufficient to solve the problems experienced by users. The Raptor Lake Refresh series is experiencing instability problems. This problem caused a large number of processors to be recalled under warranty and caused a loss of confidence among users.
These developments directly affected not only processor sales but also the sales of Intel-based motherboards. Users collecting new systems started to prefer AMD platforms due to technical problems and uncertainty. This led to a significant decrease in demand for Intel from motherboard manufacturers.
On the other hand, AMD is strengthening its position in the market with high-performance processor series such as Ryzen 8000HX ‘Dragon Range Refresh’. The models offered by the company by maintaining the price-performance balance directly affect the preferences of Chinese consumers.
In order to get out of the current situation, Intel needs to create a change in user perception beyond technical improvements. So what do you think about this issue? You can share your opinions with us in the comments section below.
