In an effort to elevate competition in both the graphics card and processor markets, Intel introduced its new graphics cards in September 2022. However, the lifespan of Intel’s most ambitious model was short-lived as the company made the decision to halt production of its flagship graphics card.
The end of the road for Intel Arc A770 Limited Edition
Unexpectedly, Intel has discontinued the production of the Arc A770 Limited Edition. The company listed June 20, 2023, as the final order and shipment date. With this listing, it became apparent that Intel will no longer produce these graphics cards.
These products will be phased out as the remaining stock runs out. Although the name includes the phrase “Limited Edition,” it was not expected for the Intel Arc A770 Limited Edition to have such a short lifespan in the market. Thus, Intel’s flagship graphics card bid farewell to us in less than a year.
Intel aimed to provide its customers with the best possible experience using its own Arc A750 Limited Edition and Arc A770 Limited Edition, which belong to a completely new GPU family. The performance of these graphics cards, which were offered without massive cooling systems, received positive reviews from many experts.
On the other hand, brands such as ASRock, Acer, Gigabyte, Gunnir, MSI, and Sparkle will continue to offer graphics cards based on the Arc A770 platform with 8 GB and 16 GB GDDR6 memory. This means that Intel is not completely saying goodbye to high-end graphics cards.
Interestingly, it seems that production is still ongoing for Intel’s Arc A750 Limited Edition. We’ll see when the tech giant pulls the plug on this graphics card. What are your thoughts on Intel and its graphics card models? Feel free to share your opinions in the comments section.
