Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır announced that the International Astronautical Congress (IAC), the world’s largest global space event, will be held in Antalya in 2026. So, what will we see at this event and who will attend?
International Space Conference will take place in Antalya!
Speaking at the “Büyütech Turkey’s First Camera Systems Production Facility Opening Ceremony” held in the Informatics Valley in Gebze district of Kocaeli, Minister Kacır stated that they received good news from Azerbaijan and said:
“ The International Astronautical Conference is the largest space event in the world. This conference is taking place in Baku, Azerbaijan this year. We were candidates for this big event to take place in Antalya in 2026 and we were in a race regarding this candidacy process.
My friends just called and informed me that our Turkey won this race and Antalya will host the world’s largest space congress in 2026. May it be beneficial to our country and nation. This is our common success, our common source of pride .
These achievements mark the second century of our Republic, with the claim and expression of our President; “It is the success of the science, R&D and innovation ecosystem and the entrepreneurship ecosystem that we have built together as Turkey steps into the Century.
These achievements are the results of the world’s careful follow-up of our achievements so far. I believe that together we will achieve much greater things in the Turkish Century.”
Minister Kacır said the following in his post on his X social media account:
“The selection process of the International Astronautical Conference #IAC2026, the largest space conference in the world, has completed, and the winner is #Antalya. With more than 10 thousand participants from more than 70 countries, this event will be the largest international scientific organization ever organized in Turkey.
The projects we are realizing step by step with the #NationalSpaceProgram will continue to attract the attention of the whole world. I would like to express my gratitude to our President, who gave the greatest support to our candidacy process. I hope that the congress and fair, where almost all important institutions and companies working in the field of space will come together, will be beneficial to Antalya and our country. “
