Apple unveiled iPadOS 26 for iPad at WWDC 2025. This major update makes the iPad experience more powerful, flexible, and user-friendly. One of the most important new features in iPadOS 26 is the new windowing system. Users can now resize app windows as they like, place them wherever they want, and open more windows at the same time.

The Expose feature displays all open windows on a single screen, making transitions easier. The menu bar, which is making its debut on the iPad, brings the user experience to a desktop-like level. The Files app has been updated with a list view, and folders can now be easily added to the iPadOS dock.
The new Preview app makes previewing files much easier. Background tasks can perform more intensive operations, and progress can be tracked with Live Activities. System-wide audio management has been improved, allowing users to select different microphones for apps and websites.

The Journal app is coming to the iPad for the first time. Apple Notes now supports Markdown format. The Reed pen has been added to the system tool palette, and the Phone app is now available on the iPad. Additionally, the gaming experience is expanding across platforms with the Apple Games app.
iPadOS 26 will soon be released in developer beta, with the public version expected to launch this fall, likely in mid-September. What do you think about these new features? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
