Apple’s September iPhone event is only weeks away, and buyers may face a sharp choice between the futuristic iPhone 17 Air and the powerhouse iPhone 17 Pro models. A new leak suggests the Pro line could gain an exclusive feature: reverse wireless charging.
Leak points to battery feature for iPhone 17 Pro

Leaker Fixed Focus Digital claims Apple has tested reverse wireless charging on the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. The feature would allow users to power up accessories like AirPods or an Apple Watch. In some cases, it could even charge another iPhone placed on the back of the Pro.
This isn’t the first time the rumor has surfaced. Back in February, leaker Instant Digital also claimed Apple was experimenting with the capability, though nothing concrete emerged.
How it sets Pro apart from iPhone 17 Air
Apple’s 2025 lineup aims to separate the Air and Pro lines. The iPhone 17 Air will feature an ultra-thin build, but it may sacrifice battery life and camera quality. By contrast, the Pro and Pro Max emphasize endurance and performance. Adding reverse wireless charging would make the gap even clearer, giving the Pro not just more battery life, but new functionality as well.
Could this be the year?
Reverse wireless charging has been rumored for iPhones for years, but Apple has never released it. Battery features are playing a bigger role in iOS 26, and design leaks hint at Apple moving its logo lower on the back of the phone. These clues have fueled speculation that 2025 may finally be the year Apple introduces reverse wireless charging. For now, it’s just a leak, but if true, the iPhone 17 Pro might let you top up your AirPods or Apple Watch simply by resting them on the phone itself.
