The technical specifications for the iPhone 17 main model, which Apple will introduce in 2025, are becoming clear. According to a research note published by Apple analysts, the lowest-level iPhone 17 model will use the same A18 chip as the iPhone 16 main model.
iPhone 17 chip and RAM specifications revealed
According to leaks, the A18 chip will continue to be produced with TSMC’s second-generation 3nm process known as N3E. The ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air model will have the A19 chip, while the iPhone 17 Pro models will use the A19 Pro chip. These two chips will be produced with TSMC’s third-generation 3nm process known as N3P.

The iPhone 17 base model will be equipped with 8GB of RAM, which is the same capacity as the iPhone 16. According to Apple analyst reports published last month, the iPhone 17 Air and both iPhone 17 Pro models will have 12GB of RAM. According to analyst reports, Apple was trying to decide between 8GB and 12GB of RAM for the iPhone 17 base model at the time. If this information is correct, the company has decided on 8GB of RAM.
The iPhone 17 base model will be the same as the iPhone 16 in terms of general design and will offer a small upgrade. The device’s prominent new features include a 120Hz display and a 24-megapixel front camera. These values are 60Hz and 12 megapixels on the iPhone 16.
According to display industry experts, the iPhone 17 base model will have a 6.3-inch display. This size is 6.1 inches on the iPhone 16. Apple is expected to introduce the entire iPhone 17 series in September.
