At its Awe Dropping event, Apple unveiled the new iPhone 17, a model that aims to redefine the standard smartphone experience. This year’s launch marks a significant strategic shift by bringing premium features previously only available on Pro models to the standard model.
What does the iPhone 17 offer?
The iPhone 17 features groundbreaking innovations such as 120Hz ProMotion display technology, the next-generation A19 chip, a larger 6.3-inch screen, and a 24MP front camera.

The iPhone 17 opens a new chapter in the user experience by offering a revolutionary upgrade in display technology while maintaining the quality of the materials.
In terms of design, the iPhone 17 retains the beloved lines of the previous generation and utilizes an aluminum frame. The most striking design change is the screen size. The device’s screen size has been increased from the previous 6.1-inch panel to 6.3 inches, providing a more immersive viewing and user experience. This growth was achieved without significantly increasing the phone’s overall size by reducing the size of the Face ID sensor and Dynamic Island thanks to metalens technology.
This year’s most significant and highly anticipated upgrade is the 120Hz LTPO OLED display and ProMotion technology, now available on the standard iPhone 17. This means that features previously exclusive to the Pro models, such as smooth scrolling, responsive gaming, and increased battery efficiency thanks to an adaptive refresh rate as low as 1Hz, are now available to all users. This technology also brings Always-On Display to the standard model for the first time.

The iPhone 17 sets a new standard in mobile performance with Apple’s latest-generation processor, increased memory capacity, and in-house-designed connectivity chips.
Powered by the Apple A19 processor
The iPhone 17 is powered by the A19 chipset, developed on TSMC’s next-generation 3nm (N3P) manufacturing process. This year, Apple appears to be focusing on power efficiency rather than purely breaking raw processing power records. This approach is crucial for balancing the energy demands of a 120Hz display and improving overall battery life. The device is equipped with 8GB of RAM for enhanced multitasking.
In a strategic move, Apple has reduced its reliance on third-party suppliers like Broadcom and adopted its own Wi-Fi 7 chip in the iPhone 17. Wi-Fi 7 technology elevates the wireless experience by offering faster speeds, lower latency, and a more stable connection in crowded network environments.
A Big Camera Ambitiousness
Apple continues to raise the bar in mobile photography with the iPhone 17. One of the most significant camera improvements in the iPhone 17 is the upgrade of the front (selfie) camera from the long-established 12MP sensor to a new 24MP sensor. This offers much sharper selfies, higher-quality video calls, and the flexibility for users to crop without sacrificing image quality.
On the back, the iPhone 17 boasts a powerful dual-camera system. This system consists of a 48MP main wide-angle sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle sensor. The 48MP main camera, thanks to pixel-merging technology, allows for brighter and more detailed photos, especially in low-light conditions.

The iPhone 17 comes with a number of improvements that further enhance the integration of hardware and software. Battery life has been significantly improved in the new model. The estimated battery capacity of the iPhone 17 is approximately 3,877mAh. As usual, Apple hasn’t provided specific information on this. There are also improvements to charging speeds; the device is reportedly capable of supporting wired fast charging up to 35W.
The new iPhone 17 comes with iOS 26 out of the box. The powerful A19 chip and 8GB of RAM allow Apple Intelligence to seamlessly run its advanced on-device AI features.
