Although Apple released the iPhone 16 series in September, detailed leaks about the iPhone 17 series have already emerged. The previously revealed horizontal camera island design looks like it will appear with iPhone 17. However, the iPhone 17 Pro screen design seems to change for the first time since iPhone 14. Here is the new dynamic island design planned for the iPhone 17 Pro…
iPhone 17 Pro screen design and dynamic island replacement
Although it is too early to speak for sure, it is obvious that Apple wants to excite users again in the iPhone 17 series. In this sense, the previously revealed Google Pixel-like horizontal camera design may appear with iPhone 17 and 17 Slim.
iPhone 17 Pro models continue the triangular camera island design as previously revealed. However, there is a slight change in iPhone 17 Pro screen design. Accordingly, a smaller Dynamic Island will appear in the iPhone 17 Pro model.
Of course, the screen hole in iPhpne 17 Pro and Pro Max models is getting smaller. As you know, Dynamic Island has a structure that can grow and shrink software-wise. In this sense, Apple is not expected to place the FaceID sensor under the screen.
However, it is among the leaks that Apple will use metalens for FaceID. Metalens structures are a lens technology with flat and nano parts instead of optical curved lens systems. This allows phone manufacturers to place better cameras in smaller areas.
Metalens, which started to be spoken for the first time in 2018, seems to enter our lives with the iPhone 17 Pro series. As you know, Apple said goodbye to notched screens with the iPhone 14 Pro design. At that time, there were criticisms that this dynamic island was also large.
In this sense, Apple seems to have taken these criticisms into account with the iPhone 17 Pro screen design. Although the main expectation is a full-screen experience and an under-screen camera, Apple is not yet in favour of using this technology.
But why Apple does not use an under-screen camera in iPhone models. Although the under-screen camera technology is quite advanced, Apple has not yet been able to reduce the disadvantages of this design to an acceptable level for the sensitivity of FaceID sensors. The screen hole design continues to be used in order to avoid situations such as the sensor not being able to detect the face under the screen.
Do you think this small change for the iPhone 17 Pro screen design can really come across? We look forward to your comments and opinions.
