Although Bethesda recently released Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition, fans have their eyes on much older legends. Todd Howard, the studio’s top executive, made exciting statements about the long-awaited Fallout 3 Remaster and remastered versions of New Vegas. Instead of denying it, Howard chose to leave the door open.
The Fallout 3 Remaster dream could become a reality
Speaking to Dexerto, Todd Howard clearly stated that they are aware of the fans’ intense demand. The renowned director said, “We got the message, we see all those comments,” indicating they are not indifferent to the request. Howard hinted at projects being prepared in the background, saying, “We have a ton of things we’re working on and we’re eagerly awaiting the day we can announce them.”
The most striking detail in Howard’s statements was the emphasis on “waiting.” The experienced director stated that instead of announcing projects early and making people wait for years, he prefers to present them with a big surprise when they are ready. As you may recall, the studio abruptly released Oblivion Remastered earlier this year using a similar strategy.
In fact, the existence of these projects is no secret. Leaked court documents from 2023 clearly revealed a remastered Fallout 3 project. Howard’s comments indirectly confirm these leaks. However, there’s no need to rush into a completely new Fallout 5. The studio is currently focusing all its efforts on completing The Elder Scrolls VI, and the new Fallout game will come after that project is finished.
So, would a possible Fallout 3 Remaster or a remastered New Vegas announcement excite you? Share your thoughts in the comments!
