In addition, many new projects are on the way. Minister Uraloğlu stated that 728 billion liras have been invested in Ankara’s transportation and communication infrastructure in the last 23 years. While the length of the urban rail system has been increased to 103.6 kilometers, revision work has been initiated on the Esenboğa Airport Metro Line.

The construction project has started on the Ankara-Kırıkkale-Delice Highway, while progress has been made on the 276-kilometer Central Anatolian Highway and the extension of Başkentray to Yenikent. Ankara’s divided highway length has been increased from 466 kilometers to 1,206 kilometers in 23 years.
It was emphasized in railway investments that Ankara is the center of the 2,251-kilometer high-speed train network. The ongoing projects include the 505-kilometer Ankara-Izmir High-Speed Train line. When this line is completed, travel time will decrease from 14 hours to 3.5 hours and approximately 7 million people will be directly served.
The passenger capacity of Esenboğa Airport is also being increased. The airport, which served more than 3 million passengers in the first quarter of 2025, will increase its capacity to a full 30 million. While the new runway and tower works are nearing completion, the terminal building is also being expanded.
