Realme previewed the Realme 14 Pro, the world’s first cold-sensitive color-changing phone, at an event in Copenhagen. The phone, whose official launch is planned for March 2025, has an interesting feature. Details are in our news…
Realme 14 Pro: First phone to change color in cold weather
One of the most striking features of the Realme 14 Pro is that its back cover changes color in response to temperature changes. Thanks to advanced thermochromic pigments, the device changes from pearl white to a vibrant blue color at temperatures below 16°C and returns to its original color when the temperature rises. The technology, said to be inspired by the ocean depths, is an industry first.
The names that designed the phone are not empty. The design of the device was created by Valeur Designers, known for its long-term collaboration with Bang & Olufsen. The special Pearl White model features a matte finish inspired by the natural beauty of shells. The back cover of each device is also made from biodegradable materials.
The top of the line Realme 14 Pro+ features Quad Curve Display technology with four curved edges for a 93.8% screen-to-body ratio. The Realme 14 Pro+ also features a triple camera system and MagicGlow symmetrical triple flash technology. The periscope camera module can clearly capture details in long-distance shots while preserving natural skin tones in night shots.
The device comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor, and thanks to its 4nm technology, it offers high enough performance, even if it’s not top of the line. The phone has IP66, IP68 and IP69 certifications and is dust, water and underwater resistant up to 1.5 meters. It also has TÜV Rheinland certification for extra protection against drops.
Chase Xu, Vice President of Realme, said, “The 14 Series truly reflects Realme’s innovative and unique design approach. This series will exceed users’ expectations by combining aesthetics and functionality.” Full technical details and pricing information will be announced at the launch in March 2025.
