Katy Perry traveled to space with an all-female crew. Jeff Bezos’ space company Blue Origin has successfully realized space travel with an all-female crew. Pop star Katy Perry, former NASA scientists Aisha Bowe and Amanda Nguyen, journalist Gayle King, journalist and fiancée of Jeff Bezos Lauren Sanchez and filmmaker Kerianne Flynn took part in the mission called NS-31.
Katy Perry in space, with all-women crew
The New Shepard rocket carrying the crew of six lifted off from Blue Origin’s launch facility in West Texas. The capsule returned to Earth after a flight of about eight minutes.
During the flight, the Karman line was crossed. With an altitude of 100 kilometers, this line is considered the edge of space. The journey was broadcast live on Blue Origin’s official website and YouTube channel. After separating from the rocket, the capsule was decelerated by three parachutes and landed safely on the ground.
The crew was taken out of the capsule one by one after experiencing a short period of zero gravity. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos was present at the landing site at this time. Bezos, who opened the capsule door with a symbolic key, first greeted Lauren Sanchez. Then Katy Perry came out and knelt down and touched the ground. Gayle King made the same gesture.

The first all-female team to go into space
The NS-31 mission represents an important milestone in space history. It was the first all-female team to go into space since Valentina Tereshkova’s solo flight in 1963.
This was also Blue Origin’s 11th manned mission to suborbital space. The company does not share the cost information of these trips with New Shepard with the public. There were no technical problems during the mission.
The entire crew returned to Earth without any problems and underwent medical checks after landing. The data obtained will be analyzed for future missions. What do you think about this issue? Please share your opinions with us in the comments section below.
