Kia’s new entry-level electric SUV, the EV2, has been spotted on European roads under light camouflage shortly before its official launch. These latest images offer the clearest glimpse yet of the vehicle’s design. Kia had previously confirmed that the EV2, its most affordable electric SUV, would make its world debut at the Brussels Motor Show on January 9, 2026.
Kia EV2 Coming Soon
Positioned as a fully electric SUV in the B segment, the EV2 will be a model below the EV3, one of the UK’s best-selling retail electric vehicles and a popular model in Europe.

Kia Europe President and CEO Marc Hedrich stated that this model reaffirms their commitment to making electric mobility truly accessible to a wider audience. Despite its compact dimensions, the EV2 features a blocky design with a high driving position and angular lines, similar to the brand’s current electric SUVs, such as the EV5 and the seven-passenger EV9.
Design clues shared by Kia a few days ago suggested the vehicle bore a near-identical resemblance to the EV2 Concept unveiled at the beginning of the year. Caught in Europe with light camouflage, the EV2’s tall, SUV-like stance confirms these observations. The latest images confirm the vehicle’s profile, suggesting it resembles a mini EV5 or EV9.
Kia will begin production alongside the EV4 hatchback at its Zilina plant in Slovakia immediately following the EV2’s launch, ramping up production volumes throughout 2026. While official technical data hasn’t yet been released, the EV2 is expected to be approximately 4,000 mm long, meaning it will be slightly shorter than the 4,300 mm-long EV3 and similar in size to the Hyundai Inster EV.
European prices for the EV2 are expected to start around €30,000, compared to the EV3, which starts around €36,000. The compact electric SUV is expected to use Hyundai’s E-GMP platform, which offers the same 58.3 kWh and 81.4 kWh battery options found in the EV3.
The EV3 offers a range of 410 km and 560 km (WLTP) with these batteries, respectively. Kia will unveil its new entry-level model at a press conference on January 9, 2026, at 12:40 PM Turkish Time.
