Kia attracted attention by breaking a global sales record in the first quarter of 2025. The brand, which sold more than 772 thousand vehicles worldwide in the first three months of the year, broke the record for the third time in a row. While the majority of sales came from overseas markets, more than 134 thousand vehicles were delivered in the domestic market.
Kia entered 2025 by breaking a sales record
Behind this great sales momentum, there are the transformation steps Kia has taken in recent years. Kia, which modernized the brand by making many innovations from its logo to its design language in 2021, draws attention especially with its investments in electric vehicles.

The company, which aims to reach large masses with affordable and efficient models, has received the first fruits of this strategy with its EV3 and EV5 models. While the EV3 attracts attention with the price-performance ratio it offers in the compact SUV segment, the EV5 has made access to electric vehicles even easier in the Chinese market at a low price.
Now, all eyes are on Kia’s first electric sedan model, the EV4. The model, which is available for pre-order at around $30,000, seems to bring a new breath of fresh air, especially in the SUV-dominated market.
Kia confirmed that the EV4 will be offered for sale in many markets, including Europe and the US, within the year. In addition, the hatchback version is also planned to go on sale in Europe this year. In the US market, it was announced that the EV6 and EV9 models have entered full production capacity.
With this move, Kia aims to increase its influence in the electric vehicle market in the US. In addition to electric passenger vehicles, Kia is also preparing to launch a new commercial model. The mid-size electric van called the PV5 will be positioned as a competitor to models such as the Volkswagen ID.Buzz and will be Kia’s first serious step in the commercial field.
