Valve Concerned: Class-Action Lawsuit Filed Against Steam
The lawsuit centers around allegations that Valve follows an anti-competitive (monopolistic) policy. The plaintiffs claim that Valve’s policy of forbidding game publishers from offering lower prices outside of Steam has stifled competition and artificially inflated game prices. Essentially, if these claims are true, it can be said that Valve has monopolized the market to generate significant profits.

They also request that the court end these practices and remove Valve’s authority to control PC game prices.
