Apple’s new budget-friendly smartphone, the iPhone SE 4, is expected to undergo the same rear chassis production process as the upcoming iPhone 16. This new rumor comes from Fixed Focus Digital. Following this news, the design features of the phone could change significantly.
Major Change in the Rear Design of the iPhone SE 4
According to the leak, the rear panel production process for the iPhone SE 4 will be identical to that of the iPhone 16, which is set to be released in the coming months. However, it remains uncertain whether the fourth-generation SE model will be launched before the end of the year or in 2025.
Previous rumors suggested that Apple might switch to a vertical dual-camera layout for the iPhone 16, moving away from the cross-layout of the iPhone 15. The fact that the iPhone SE 4 shares the same rear panel suggests that it might also feature a dual-camera setup. However, there has been no rumor yet confirming such a plan by Apple.
This new rumor contradicts earlier information about the chassis of the iPhone SE 4. It was expected to use a modified version of the iPhone 14’s chassis and feature a single 48MP camera.
The rationale behind possibly transitioning to the iPhone 16 remains unclear. However, reducing production costs to make a budget-friendly iPhone could be the main strategy for the company.
The iPhone SE is anticipated to bring significant innovations, such as a 6.1-inch OLED display, Face ID biometric system, USB-C port, and a 7000 series aluminum chassis with front and back glass. Apple might move away from the old design featuring thick bezels and a Home button, as it did with the iPad series this year. The price of the iPhone SE 4 is expected to remain under $500, making it budget-friendly.
