The ESRB has leaked the first information about the remastered version of Horizon Zero Dawn for PC and PlayStation 5 / PlayStation 5 Pro. Originally released in 2017 for PlayStation 4, this action/RPG game later became available on the PC platform. Now, a new version with enhancements specifically designed for PlayStation 5 and PC is reportedly in development.
Horizon is Coming to PC and PlayStation Once Again!
According to the ESRB rating description, Horizon Zero Dawn is set in a post-apocalyptic world where players control Aloy, a skilled hunter, as she fights robotic creatures. Combat mechanics include using bows, spears, and traps to take down these mechanical enemies.
The ESRB’s description also mentions fights with wild boars and human enemies, along with blood effects during combat and bloodstains in an abandoned camp.
Horizon Zero Dawn is currently playable on PC and PS5 via backward compatibility. However, this remastered version is expected to feature graphical enhancements, performance updates, and potentially new features that take full advantage of the PlayStation 5’s hardware. The leak suggests that an official announcement may be imminent.
Additionally, Lego Horizon Adventures, a new game based on the Horizon IP developed by Guerrilla Games, is expected to release later this year for PC, PS5, and Nintendo Switch. As for the series’ sequel, Horizon Forbidden West, there is no official date yet for its release on PC.
