As the next-generation handheld console market continues to grow, Lenovo is keeping pace with the competition. The company’s new handheld console, the Legion Go 2, has been spotted in various tests for some time. The device will be officially unveiled at IFA 2025 in Berlin on September 5th.
Lenovo Legion Go 2 is here
This new console, Lenovo’s successor to the first-generation Legion Go, comes with significant hardware upgrades. At its core is the Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor, featuring 8 cores and 16 RDNA 3.5 compute units.

The Radeon 890M GPU powers the graphics. This hardware provides a significant improvement in both power efficiency and graphics performance compared to the Ryzen Z1 Extreme used in the previous model.
The console’s display is an 8.8-inch OLED panel with a 1600p resolution. Memory support is up to 32GB of LPDDR5X, while storage can be expanded with an SSD up to 2TB.
The design remains unchanged; the familiar detachable controllers from the previous model remain. These controllers can be used in various configurations for both handheld and desktop use.
The Legion Go 2 also includes improvements to battery life and heat issues. These weaknesses have been addressed with a larger battery and an improved cooling system. No official pricing information has yet been released.
Coming up against strong competitors like the MSI Claw A8 and ASUS ROG Ally, the Legion Go 2 looks set to intensify its market share. Details on these details and pricing will be available until the device’s official launch.
