Lexus showcased its vision for a new generation of sports cars with the Sport Concept model unveiled at The Quail in California. This concept, likely to be called the LFR, sheds light on the future of the brand’s premium sports car design.
Lexus Sport Concept unveiled
The Sport Concept, with its wide, low-slung two-door design, combines dynamic lines and fluid contours. This model offers an aerodynamic profile that combines both aesthetics and performance.

Echoing the brand’s characteristic design language, this concept replaces traditional side mirrors with camera systems similar to those found in race cars. It also features a small aerodynamic fin on the roof, aligned with the brake lights.
The vehicle’s performance-focused design is highlighted by details such as a bold rear diffuser and an active rear spoiler. The concept lacks exhaust outlets on the diffuser, but the triangular motifs at the rear are a nod to Lexus’s legendary LFA.
This reinforces rumors that the new model will be a successor to the LFA. Below the spoiler are exhaust outlets and large air ducts similar to those on the LFA. Four small rear fans are also noteworthy details.
Lexus hasn’t released any technical specifications for the Sport Concept. However, it’s expected to feature a twin-turbo V8 engine and rear-wheel drive. There will also be a Toyota version of this model, which will be the basis for the Japanese manufacturer’s new GT3 race car.
