Unpleasant news has arrived for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which rose from the ashes especially with the release of Avengers in 2012. The new film of Blade, one of the orphaned children of the Marvel world after the legendary trilogy, has been postponed indefinitely. Here are the details…
The new Blade film will not feature Wesley Snipes
Blade, which premiered in 1998 and is unforgettable thanks to Wesley Snipes’ legendary performance, left a nice mark with two sequels that, although not as good as the first film, maintained a certain level of quality.
After Blade: Trinity, which was released in 2004, the series was put on hold until it was brought back to the agenda after the Marvel Cinematic Universe exploded. The new film of the announced series was supposed to be released in 2023. The film, in which we will see Mahershala Ali as Blade, was postponed to 2025 due to production delays.
However, it seems that things are not going well for Blade. According to a statement from Marvel, the new generation Blade film, which was scheduled to be released in December 2025, has been officially removed from the calendar. Furthermore, Marvel did not share any information regarding a new release date for the film. In this sense, the possibility of the film being canceled seems to exist.
Although fans of the series miss Wesley Snipes, the fact that the famous star, now 62 years old, will not be part of the film has somewhat been accepted. However, the possibility that the film may not be released at all could greatly disappoint fans.
