Last year, after a major theft in the database of Sony’s most famous game developer, Insomniac, the source codes of many upcoming games, including Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (PC version) and Marvel’s Wolverine, were leaked. Brazilian modders have leaked an early version of the game online.
Marvel’s Wolverine is playable even in this state
Everything started with a 1 TB data leak that Insomniac experienced last year. This leak contained data related to Insomniac’s future products, financial information, employee data, and two main upcoming games: Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Marvel’s Wolverine.
A Brazilian modding team modified Spider-Man 2 and released it as a pirate version for PC, so much so that it is expected that the PC port of the game will have very low sales when it is officially released. The Brazilian team continues to mod, fix issues, and release the game as a pirate version daily. The same team has also leaked Marvel’s Wolverine to the PC.
The footage you can watch above belongs to version 1.01, recently released by the Brazilian modding team. However, it should be noted that this version is not nearly as perfect as Spider-Man 2; in fact, we are dealing with an early development version. In this sense, it can be said that Insomniac will not suffer as much damage as it did with Spider-Man 2.
At this stage, while we do not recommend playing pirated games, we also advise against trying this version to avoid forming a negative impression of the game. Neither the graphics, gameplay, nor animations will be close to the finished version of the game.
