The flagship race for Android devices has officially begun. As Qualcomm and MediaTek prepare to unveil their latest high-end processors, leaks keep surfacing. MediaTek is set to announce the Dimensity 9400 processor on October 9. Now, detailed specifications of the Dimensity 9400 have also been leaked. Here are the expected features of the MediaTek Dimensity 9400…
Is MediaTek Dimensity 9400 more powerful than Apple’s A18 processor?
Recent leaks of AnTuTu benchmark results suggest that the Dimensity 9400 surpasses Apple’s A18 processor (introduced with the iPhone 16), at least in terms of graphics performance. The 9400 has managed to climb to the top of the AnTuTu list, outperforming Apple’s processor in this category.
Core architecture and performance
According to leaks from Digital Chat Station, new information about the processor’s cores has surfaced. The Dimensity 9400 will feature:
- One high-performance Cortex-X925 core running at 3.626 GHz
- Three Cortex-X4 cores
- Four Cortex-A720 cores.
It has also been revealed that the X4 and A720/A725 cores will operate at the same clock speeds as those in last year’s Dimensity 9300:
- The X4 cores at 2.85 GHz
- The A720 cores at 2 GHz.
Additionally, the Dimensity 9400 is expected to include the Immortalis-G925 MC12 GPU, running at 1.612 MHz, which contributes to its impressive graphics performance.
The processor will be launched this month, alongside competitors like Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 or Snapdragon 8 Elite. While it’s expected to be more affordable than Qualcomm’s offerings, its performance comparison with Qualcomm’s processors remains to be seen. The first devices powered by the Dimensity 9400 are expected to be the vivo X200 series and OPPO Find X8.
