Meta: Llama AI will help the US military
Recently, Meta, the roof of social media applications such as Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, announced that its productive artificial intelligence model Llama AI will support the US military and government in software development, etc. under the name of national security applications. Meta’s partner companies are also expected to be involved in helping the US military. According to the example given by Meta, Oracle will be able to transfer aircraft maintenance documents so that the technician can solve problems faster and more accurately.
According to Meta, Lockheed Martin has also started using Llama AI, which will speed up processes such as code generation and data analysis. Some researchers have uncovered evidence that Llama AI is being used by China for defense purposes. Researchers did not support the idea that Llama AI used by China did not join the US military. Apart from all these problems, if Meta is going to make Llama AI available to the US military, it may have to change its user policy that prohibits Llama from being used in industries such as military, war, nuclear industries or applications, espionage.
Citizens and analysts are divided on this issue. As of November 5, 2024, when the United States opens the ballot boxes, one group argues that an artificial intelligence such as Llama AI will be of great help to the US military and government. Others argue that there could be too much data leakage from artificial intelligence, so they do not support the use of artificial intelligence, especially in a field such as the military.
