The company attributed much of its success to Microsoft Cloud’s $33.7 billion in revenue, up 24% year over year. Thus, last quarter, Microsoft Cloud managed to account for more than half of the company’s entire revenue. In the short term, the company has already managed to reap the fruits of this huge investment it made in the age of artificial intelligence.

However, Microsoft Cloud’s revenue increased by $6.6 billion after its agreement with OpenAI. Microsoft has confirmed that it will invest billions of dollars in OpenAI, the architect of ChatGPT, which forms the basis of many productive artificial intelligence solutions.

CEO Satya Nadella summarized the company’s progress in this area: “We’ve moved from talking about AI to implementing AI at scale. By infusing AI into every layer of our technology stack, we’re winning new customers. We’re helping deliver new advantages and productivity gains in every industry.”
