After announcing earlier this year that the number of Xbox Game Pass subscribers had reached 25 million, Microsoft did not provide any official information. A LinkedIn profile of an Xbox Marketing Executive reveals how many subscribers the service has gained after just over a year.
Xbox Game Pass subscribers increase by 5 million in 1.5 years
Xbox Chief Marketing Officer Craig McNary’s LinkedIn profile may show updated data on the number of Game Pass subscribers. Describing his role in his LinkedIn profile, McNary said that he helped “Game Pass reach more than 30 million members”. This reveals the current number of subscribers to the service.
If this number is accurate and McNary’s profile is up to date, Xbox Game Pass appears to have gained 5 million subscribers in 19 months. For comparison, data from March this year showed PlayStation Plus had 47.5 million subscribers.
We know that Microsoft has recently been looking to acquire giant companies like Activision-Blizzard, the developers of Call of Duty. In addition, Bethesda’s new game Starfield has also supported the subscription by offering it through Game Pass.
Still, Microsoft doesn’t seem to have caught up with PlayStation Plus’ user numbers. However, it should be noted that the number of subscribers may have dropped from 47.5 million with the global increase in PS Plus.
On the other hand, Microsoft recently switched to the Game Pass Core tier instead of Live Gold. Game Pass Turkey price is 79.99 TL per month.
