Mitsubishi has officially unveiled its new three-row SUV, the Destinator. Developed with a focus on the Asian market, the new model was designed with consideration for challenging road conditions and user habits in different regions. The series-produced model is a direct continuation of the DST concept unveiled last year.
The New-Generation Mitsubishi Destinator SUV Has Been Unveiled
The new SUV shares similarities with Mitsubishi’s recent prototypes in terms of design. Despite its exterior lines, which bear a strong resemblance to the new Pajero, the vehicle is built on a different platform and features a front-wheel-drive system derived from the Xforce model. Underpinning this platform is a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 161 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT transmission.

The vehicle’s technical highlights include five different driving modes and a comfort-focused suspension system. Furthermore, increased ground clearance aims to provide safer driving, particularly on the rough roads of Southeast Asia.
Design details include a high, flat hood, muscular fenders, and bumper skid plates. The LED lighting clusters at the front and rear provide unified design, while the horizontal lines on the C-pillar create a dynamic silhouette. The dual-tone 18-inch alloy wheels are relatively small compared to the overall body proportions.
The Mitsubishi Destinator has a length of 4,680 mm and a wheelbase of 2,815 mm. While these dimensions offer a shorter exterior volume than the Outlander, they also provide more leg and headroom inside. The cabin, which seats 7 people, features a 12.3-inch multimedia screen and an 8-inch digital instrument cluster. Features include a Yamaha-designed sound system, ambient lighting, a panoramic glass roof, and advanced driver assistance systems.
The model will be produced in Indonesia. Scheduled to go on sale at the end of July, the Destinator will be available not only in Asia but also in Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa.
