The 2023 model Motorola Razr is known as the world’s most affordable foldable phone: The device has finally started receiving the new Android 14 version update.
Unlike Samsung or Google, Motorola is not known for long-term Android software updates. Instead, it classifies its phones as flagship, mid-range, and budget-friendly devices. Budget-friendly devices receive Android version and security updates for only 2 years.
Good news for Razr and Razr Plus 2023 users!
Motorola has managed to capture LG’s market share in the US with its affordable devices. Motorola, which can offer flagship phones and foldable models at affordable prices, has risen from the ashes. The company has carved out a market share by offering features like a larger screen than Samsung’s or the highest refresh rate screens in the industry at very affordable prices.
However, Motorola has not excelled in the area of Android software and security update frequency, especially as it tries to compete with giants like Samsung and Apple in the US. Four years of security updates are valid for selected models in the foldable Razr series, which directly competes with Samsung’s Z Flip series.

Nonetheless, Motorola has begun rolling out the latest Android 14 version update to its clamshell foldable Razr and Razr Plus 2023 devices. These updates are currently available for a select group of users and will soon be available to all Razr and Razr Plus 2023 users.
