First announced in 2020 but long shrouded in silence, the Netflix Assassin’s Creed series is finally taking concrete steps. The project, adapted from Ubisoft’s legendary game series, has moved one step closer to production with the addition of new names to its cast. According to Deadline, two more talented actors have joined the series.
The cast is expanding: Lola Petticrew and Zachary Hart have signed on.
Previously, Toby Wallace (The Royal Hotel, Babyteeth) was announced as the lead actor, and now Lola Petticrew and Zachary Hart have joined the project. The roles Petticrew, known for Bloodlands and Trespasses, and Hart, whom we remember from Slow Horses, will play are being kept secret for now. However, it has been confirmed that Zachary Hart will be one of the main recurring characters in the series.

The series is created by Roberto Patino, known for Westworld and Sons of Anarchy, and David Wiener, producer of Halo. According to the duo’s vision, the series will tell a new story instead of simply replicating the characters from the games.
Reports that emerged last month claimed the series would focus on a period not previously explored in the games: Ancient Rome. The production, said to feature historical figures such as Emperor Nero and Seneca, is expected to begin filming in Italy next year (2026).
Black Flag Remake is also on the way
The activity in the Assassin’s Creed universe isn’t limited to the series. Leaks continue to pour in on the game side as well. “Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced,” listed on the PEGI rating site, is the strongest evidence that the beloved pirate game will return with a remastered version. Ubisoft is expected to make an official announcement soon.
