The new tabletop game for Cyberpunk 2077, titled Cyberpunk 2077 – The Board Game, has set a new record by raising $2 million in just 10 minutes. This game is a follow-up to the hit video game Cyberpunk 2077, which had already set sales records after its release two years ago.
Cyberpunk 2077 Board Game to be Delivered Next Year
Developed by Go On Board and launched through a fundraising campaign on Gamefound, the project reached its $100,000 goal in just 10 minutes and 4 seconds. As of now, the campaign has surpassed $1.9 million and continues to grow rapidly.
This new board game is the second licensed tabletop game based on Cyberpunk 2077. The first game, Cyberpunk 2077: Gangs of Night City – The Board Game, was developed by Cool Mini Or Not and raised $886,783 on Kickstarter. However, the new game is quickly surpassing this amount and heading towards a new record.
The game’s tremendous success is also linked to the popularity of Netflix’s Edgerunners anime series and the success of the game’s Phantom Liberty expansion pack. Cyberpunk 2077 has sold over 25 million copies to date, and the new board game is eagerly anticipated by its large fanbase.
Go On Board, known for successful tabletop games such as The Witcher: Old World and The Witcher: Path of Destiny, is now aiming to create a new wave of excitement in the tabletop gaming world with this new entry into the Cyberpunk universe.
