Marvel’s highly anticipated Daredevil: Born Again did not receive the expected attention in its first week on Disney+. The sequel to the original Daredevil series on Netflix was expected to reach a wide audience because it brought back one of the most beloved heroes of the Marvel universe. However, the first data released shows that the series’ initial performance fell short of the company’s previous projects.
The new Daredevil series was not as well-received as expected
Daredevil: Born Again reached 7.5 million views in its first week. Although Disney emphasized that this figure is the best-opening series on Disney+ as of 2025, the results do not look very bright for Marvel when compared to the company’s previous projects. For example, The Acolyte series from the Star Wars universe received 11.1 million views in its first week.

The Agatha All Along series, which was released by Marvel last year and whose main character is not as popular as Daredevil, reached 9.3 million views in its first episode. The fact that a well-known hero like Daredevil could not reach this level even with two episodes of his new series has presented a very negative picture for Marvel.
The company, which has not been able to achieve its old successes at the box office recently, is experiencing a similar difficulty on the television side. Captain America: Brave New World, which was released last month, did not achieve the expected box office success. Now, Daredevil’s return has been met with a limited audience without making a big splash.
Although the criticisms of the series were generally positive, the low viewing figures in the first week created concerns for the upcoming episodes. However, Marvel has already made a decision about the future of the series. Daredevil: Born Again had been approved for a second season before the first season even started, and filming began a few days ago.
