Naughty Dog is preparing to release The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered on January 19. In a recent tweet, the developer detailed the upgrade process for players who own the PlayStation 4 version of the game and offered them the opportunity to experience the game on PlayStation 5 for a small fee .

According to Naughty Dog, upgrading to The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered for PS5 comes with a $10 price tag, available exclusively through the PlayStation Store.
While the digital upgrade fee is stated in US dollars, it is stated that the price may vary by country. Players who own a physical copy of the game will need to insert the disc before requesting the remaster, and will need to do so every time they want to play.
The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered features a number of improvements, including improved graphics with native 4K support and 4K upscaling in performance mode. Naughty Dog has also optimized the game to take advantage of the features of the PS5’s DualSense controller, promising a more immersive gaming experience.
A prominent feature of the remastered version is the introduction of a new roguelike survival mode called No Return. This mode features multiple playable characters who navigate through a series of encounters, each offering different rewards.
Encounter types include Assault, Capture, Hold, and Hunt, each offering a variety of challenges for players to overcome. No Return ends by facing one of six powerful bosses that add an extra level of intensity to the game.
The game also includes the addition of three cut episodes, Jackson Dance, Boar Hunt and Sewers, and developer commentary providing insight into the development process.
