HMD Global has unveiled its new budget-friendly smartphone, the Nokia C22, in India. The C22, which will come with Android 13 Go Edition out of the box, will create significant competition in the entry-level market with its price. Here are the features, design, and price of the Nokia C22.
What does the Nokia C22 offer for $97?
The Nokia C22 features a hard plastic case made of polycarbonate. It has a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD screen with a resolution of 720×1,600 pixels and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The 2.5D screen glass ensures the screen remains durable under harsh conditions.
The entry-level model is powered by a Unisoc SC9863A chipset with 2 / 4 GB RAM. It also offers a 64 GB internal storage option, which supports microSD cards. The low price C22, which comes with Android 13 Go Edition out of the box, promises an optimized user experience for entry-level devices.
The C22 features a dual-camera setup on the back, consisting of a 13-megapixel main and 2-megapixel telephoto sensor. On the front, there is a water-drop notch with an 8-megapixel resolution selfie camera.
The device is powered by an undisclosed capacity battery with 10W charging support. However, Nokia claims that the device will offer up to 3 days of battery life. The model includes a physical fingerprint sensor on the back and also features facial recognition for unlocking.
The C22 model comes with Android 13 Go Edition, designed for entry-level phones. Nokia stated that it would provide security updates every three months for two years. The 2GB RAM + 64GB storage version will be sold for 7,999 Indian Rupees ($97).
