One of the most beloved comedy series of all time, The Office, is returning to the screens with a new version. The series, called “The Paper,” is produced by the creators of the original series. However, this time, instead of familiar characters, viewers will encounter a completely different cast and a new office environment. The series, which will be broadcast on the Peacock platform, will air in September.

The events in the series take place in the office of a well-established local newspaper that is in danger of closing. This new environment, shaped by the paper newspaper’s struggle to survive, is blended with absurd business relationships, social incompatibilities and daily office nonsense, just like in The Office.

While the producers largely preserved the humorous language and fiction logic, they preferred to establish a new universe by taking the story to a completely different sector. The lead role of the series is played by Domhnall Gleeson. Gleeson, who has previously appeared in various cinema projects, will be appearing in a television comedy for the first time with this production.

The cast also includes Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young and Tim Key. The only familiar face from the old series is Oscar Nunez, who plays Oscar Martinez. Nunez will also be in this new project with his role from the original series.
