The Digital Foundry team shared a new video on The Last of Us Part 2, where they had the chance to closely examine the performance of PlayStation 5 Pro. In a special preview presentation held at Sony’s London office, the next-gen graphics technologies of the PS5 Pro were thoroughly tested.
The Last of Us Part 2 aims for 4K – 60 FPS!
Especially with Sony’s newly developed PSSR (PlayStation Scaling Resolution) technology being used in The Last of Us Part 2, there are significant improvements in visual quality. While the base resolution remains at 1440p like on the standard PS5, the image quality has seen a substantial boost thanks to PSSR.
In the newly released video, The Last of Us Part 2, developed by Naughty Dog, showcases 4K 60FPS performance. Digital Foundry has also announced that they will be sharing new footage from the PS5 Pro version of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth in the coming days. The content, which will feature commentary by John Linneman and Oliver Mackenzie, will provide a more detailed examination of the PS5 Pro’s performance in next-gen games.
The release date of Sony’s next-gen console, the PS5 Pro, has not been officially announced yet. However, leading industry figures expect it to be released in the last quarter of 2024, just in time for the holiday season. Optimized versions of popular games like TLOU2 are expected to play a key role during the new console’s launch process.
