California, the favorite of those who do not want to design a caravan from scratch, has been renewed. Volkswagen California, which is introduced today in five different versions, appeals to every segment of society with its different features. Before we slow down, let’s take a look at the engine options and then the features of the California.
Volkswagen California, which comes with three different engine options: diesel, gasoline and Plug-in hybrid, uses Volkswagen’s well-known 150HP TDI unit on the diesel side. California, which comes with a 201HP TSI engine as a gasoline engine, offers both 245HP power and four-wheel drive in the plug-in hybrid option. The caravan, which also offers a towing capacity of up to 2 tons in this version, states that it will not leave you stranded in any situation.
Designed to be 269 mm longer and 37 mm wider than the previous series, Volkswagen California has a total length of 5173 mm and a width of 1941 mm. The vehicle is 1990 mm high when the tent is folded, and offers a height of up to 2108 mm on the inside when the tent is open. Thus, while ensuring easy movement of passengers while camping, tents, large double front doors and swiveling front seats come as standard in all five models.
The entry-trim Beach comes with six seats. Beach, which has features such as a manual folding roof and a bed on the ceiling, lags behind the Beach Tour, which has a 40 Ah additional camping battery and a total of four beds. The third equipment package, Beach Camper, has higher-level features because it is a caravan minibus.
Beach Camper, which carries the kitchen section in the load compartment with its five seats, 230V socket connection, single-burner gas stove, cutlery drawer, additional storage areas, is more suitable for camping life compared to the first two equipment levels. In addition to Beach Camper, California Coast, which has features such as a kitchenette with cabinets, a sink, a 28-liter water tank, two caravan batteries and a refrigerator, is shaping up to be the second best of the five equipment levels.
Let’s talk about Volkswagen California’s top equipment package, Ocean. Carrying all the features found in the previous equipment levels, Ocean is an almost complete four-seat caravan model. In addition to the Coast equipment level, California Ocean, which impresses with its seat heating, kitchenette background lighting, auxiliary air conditioning and different designed upholstery, differs from other equipment levels with some updates on the exterior.
