Nintendo Direct livestream
The digital presentation will take place at 7am PT/10am ET on Tuesday, June 18th. Nintendo has said this Direct will focus exclusively on Switch games releasing between now and the end of the year.
While exact games and reveals were not disclosed, some expected announcements include updates on long-awaited titles like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 and Metroid Prime 4, both of which are still without release windows. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet could also be featured with new details on the ninth generation Pokémon games scheduled for late 2024.
On the third-party front, the recent partnership between Nintendo and Microsoft may see the reveal of specific Call of Duty games coming to Switch as part of their 10-year deal. There is also speculation that a remake of 1999’s The House of the Dead 2 could be announced based on a recent rating.
The June Direct will mark the last major showcase from a platform holder this summer, following digital events from Sony and Microsoft in May and June respectively. With only the second half of the year left, Nintendo is sure to have some exciting first and third-party reveals in store for Switch owners tuned in on June 18th.
Fans won’t have to wait much longer to get their first looks at what’s in store for the purple-tinged rest of 2024.
