Nissan, one of the brands that comes to mind when it comes to Japanese cars, has announced a new version of the X-Trail. Nissan has announced the first Nismo version of its X-Trail SUV for the 2026 model year. The company has transformed the family-friendly X-Trail into a performance-focused SUV with improved dynamics, better cornering, and a more refined ride. Here are the 2026 Nissan X-Trail Nismo features and design.
The Nissan X-Trail Nismo is for SUV enthusiasts seeking a sporty design
The new X-Trail Nismo has been introduced with a more aggressive exterior and sporty interior, but the Nismo logo doesn’t represent a performance increase. The 2026 X-Trail Nismo is equipped with the same 105 kW 1.5-liter gasoline generator and a small battery pack as previous models. This system powers the 150 kW front and 100 kW rear electric motors.

Nissan has stated that the e-4FORCE electric all-wheel-drive system has been retuned, but hasn’t provided further details. The upgraded suspension features new springs and Kayaba Swing Valve shock absorbers that enhance body control without compromising comfort.
In addition, Nissan has reduced the vehicle’s ground clearance by 29 percent to increase downforce for added stability at higher speeds, which also enhances its sportier appearance.
The exterior and interior design features bold red accents with dark chrome accents. The main color is Nismo’s signature Stealth Gray, paired with a Super Black roof. Cardinal Red, Prism White, Dark Metal Gray, and Diamond Black are also available.
The 2026 Nissan X-Trail Nismo, with sales slated to begin on September 24, will be available exclusively in Japan.
