Sony has released a new software update for PlayStation 3. PS3, which is overshadowed by new generation consoles such as PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro, came to the agenda again after a long break.
Sony’s surprise update to the aging PlayStation 3
Many gamers thought that Sony had completely stopped supporting the old console. However, the update with version code 4.92 is critical for PS3. Sony, which has been silent for more than a year, has renewed the encryption key that allows Blu-ray discs to play with this update.

The update requires 200MB of free space on the console for successful installation. PlayStation 3, which was released in November 2006 and is almost 20 years old, is now a nostalgic device in the modern gaming world.
In the update notes published by Sony, all PS3 users were advised to upgrade to the latest version. The company also promises additional features, improved usability and increased security.
In fact, the Xbox 360 and Wii, two of the older generation consoles, work with old-style disc technologies. PlayStation 3 was the only game console to use a Blu-Ray high-definition disc drive. This gave the PS3 two distinct advantages: Blu-Ray movies and games.
Most importantly, PlayStation 3 supports 1080p picture quality. It also converts DVDs to look better on your HDTV. It also has an HDMI port for the highest quality HD signals.
