It is rumored that the next generation of flagship phones with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 processors may be released with batteries as large as 7,000mAh. The new battery technology is said to offer higher capacity and faster charging support than the SiC (Silicon-Carbon) batteries used in the current generation. So, what is the advantage of new generation batteries? Details in our news…
We may see 7,000mAh batteries in Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 processor phones
According to the latest information, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 phones with small screens may have batteries over 6,000mAh and 7,000mAh batteries in high-end models. These batteries will not only increase capacity but also allow for thinner phone designs. Digital Chat Station, a reliable leakage source, states that these batteries will also offer 120W fast charging support.
This means that users will be able to charge their phones in a much shorter time. It is rumored that the new battery solution could be included in Xiaomi’s 16 series phones. At the same time, Realme’s GT 7 Pro model will have a 6,400mAh capacity battery. It is stated that the new technology will increase the performance of these brands’ phones while maintaining energy efficiency.
Existing SiC batteries were able to combine large capacities with thin designs. However, it is not yet clear what additional advantages the new battery technology offers over SiC. Still, the potential to reduce the size of devices while offering more capacity is quite high.
