WhatsApp has opened the door for users to socialize more with the Channels feature it launched in recent months. However, the platform will allow users to pin their most visited Channels as part of a new feature.
WhatsApp gets Channel pinning feature
The messaging platform owned by Meta launched Channels last year. This feature allows both official organizations and large entities to share information to their subscribers.
However, Channels, which work as a one-way broadcast tool, can interfere with normal chats. In the latest beta version, WhatsApp introduced the Channel pinning feature. This will make it easier to navigate channels. You will also be able to easily access the channel you want.
Channels have recently seen some important updates, such as adding surveys to measure subscriber feedback and setting up to 16 admins. The pinning option will allow users to see their frequently visited Channels in a specific menu.
According to the screenshot, the Channels you have pinned will appear at the top. This will allow you to access specific posts without having to scroll through subscribed feeds.
The pinning feature is currently in development. But it signals WhatsApp’s continued efforts to expand Channels beyond simple broadcasts. As Channels grow, it will enable WhatsApp to be a more comprehensive communication tool as well as a messaging function.
