Nokia, which took the mobile phone era by storm, failed to make the transition to the smartphone world and almost hit rock bottom. Although the company attempted to rise from the ashes again, it has not yet achieved the success it wanted. The brand, which continues to work under the roof of HMD, now seems to be out of favor.
Nokia roof company HMD is counting down for its first phone to be introduced under its own name
Unable to move into the smartphone world, Nokia was sold to Microsoft in 2013. The brand, which could not find what it wanted here, entered under the roof of HMD Global in 2016. Although it has reached a certain audience with the models it has produced since then, it has not been able to enter among the star names such as Apple, Samsung and Xiaomi.
Since then, HMD has continued to produce smartphones under the name Nokia. The model, which took the stage with middle and lower segment models, started to fall out of favor. After years, HMD will leave the Nokia name aside and launch a smartphone under its own name.
On the other hand, there are not many details about the expected HDM model. According to the leaked information, the device will be a budget-friendly mid-segment model. The back panel will have a matte finish and a rectangular camera island.
This smartphone is not the first time the company has taken the stage under the HMD name. The Nokia C32, which took the stage in February last year, was modified with the name of the roof company for the African market and sold under the name HMD M-Kopa X1. However, the expected new model will be the first to fully use the HMD name.
