Have you ever dreamed that you can speak to a game character and get answers? It might be now possible thanks to the Nvidia and Convai partnership. It is good to be prepared for a new era in the gaming sector. At Computex 2023 in Taipei, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang announced a lot of new features in terms of AI and games. Also, Nvidia announced a partnership with Convai to offer a speaking to AI game characters feature. Here are the details about AI game characters and Nvidia ACE…
Nvidia ACE (Avatar Cloud Engine) for Games
The popular gaming company published a demo that was built by Nvidia and partner Convai to help promote the new tools. Especially, Nvidia ACE (Avatar Cloud Engine) for Games includes NeMo tools to improve the language models, Riva speech-to-text and text-to-speech, and more features. In the demo video, we can see that the player and AI game character have a live dialouge.
As common, the players choose dialogue options to have a conversation. However, Nvidia is planning to offer a feature that will allow you to just say something with your own voice, and get an answer from a video game character.
The company says, “NVIDIA ACE for Games, a foundry for intelligent in-game characters powered by generative AI. Watch how NVIDIA partnered with Convai to help optimize and integrate ACE modules into an immersive and dynamic interaction with a non-playable character named Jin, also enhanced with ray tracing and performance multiplying NVIDIA DLSS 3.”
Here is the revealed conversation provided by TheVerge:
Player: Hey Jin, how are you?
Jin: Unfortunately not so good.
How come?
I am worried about the crime around here. It’s gotten bad lately. My ramen shop got caught in the crossfire.
Can I help?
If you want to do something about this, I have heard rumors that the powerful crime lord Kumon Aoki is causing all kinds of chaos in the city. He may be the root of this violence.
I’ll talk to him, where can I find him?
I have heard he hangs out in the underground fight clubs on the city’s east side. Try there.
OK, I’ll go.
Be careful, Kai.
