The tech giant Samsung introduced its latest update, One UI 6.1.1, last month just before the Paris Olympics. After a long wait, the update was finally released in recent days, and it seems the new version is gradually rolling out.
One UI 6.1.1 is Live in the US, Europe, and India
Samsung showcased the new version during the IFA 2024 event, where they specified which devices would receive the update. The company has now taken the expected step, and One UI 6.1.1 is live, available in the US, Europe, and India.
On Samsung’s official site, it was noted that the new update is currently being rolled out only for the Galaxy S23 series, S23 FE, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, and Tab S9. However, the update is also set to arrive for the Galaxy S22 series, Z Fold 4, Z Flip 4, and Tab S8, which were introduced in 2022. These older flagship models will receive a portion of the new AI features and some of the standard features of One UI 6.1.1.
With One UI 6.1.1, phones gain access to new apps like Sketch to Image, an AI tool that allows users to create images from simple drawings, and Portrait Studio, which helps in creating more personalized avatars for online use. Initially, the update for the Galaxy S24 is available only in South Korea. The One UI 6.1.1 update is 2.8 GB in size.
The new One UI update brings Live Translate support for compatible smartphones, enabling real-time voice call translations in apps like WhatsApp, KakaoTalk, and Google Meet. Additionally, the update allows users to record their voice while taking notes, and the audio can be converted into written text.
