Samsung officially began rolling out the highly anticipated stable One UI 8.0 (Android 16) update this week. The company previously stated that the update would be released in September, but did not provide a specific date. The new software will be rolled out to eligible Galaxy phones and tablets in phases, meaning it won’t reach all devices at once. Here are the details.
Samsung Launches One UI 8.0 (Android 16) Update
The One UI 8.0 update first launched today, September 15th, for the Galaxy S25 series. Newer high-end devices like the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Galaxy Z Fold 6 are expected to receive the update in the coming weeks. The vast majority of other compatible Galaxy devices and tablets will receive the update by the end of the year.

One UI 8.0 brings several significant improvements. The update introduces advanced AI features, improvements to the Now Bar and Now Brief, and also enhances Knox security features and increases user interface customization options. As always, Samsung is improving system stability, security, and privacy with its new software.
Additionally, a more secure Secure Folder, improved Samsung DeX, a redesigned Quick Share, more user-friendly AI Select, and improved Calendar, Clock, and Reminders apps are among the highlights. The process of creating Bluetooth Auracast audio streams has been streamlined, and the Weather app also features refreshed visuals.
