Samsung announced the beta program for One UI 8, which it has been testing internally for a while, yesterday. The company started the beta process with the Galaxy S25 series. The program is currently available in Germany, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States. However, recent developments indicate that One UI 8 will be the last major update for some Samsung tablets and phones.
These Samsung models will not receive major updates after One UI 8
A list of Samsung devices that will receive One UI 8 as the last major update has been shared. Since the new version will be based on Android 16, we can say that the smartphone and tablet models on the list will also run Android 16 for the rest of their lives.

Although One UI 8 is the last major update for these devices, it is stated that users will still be able to receive security patches with minor interim updates such as One UI 8.1 or 8.1.1 for a while.
Samsung has confirmed that One UI 8 will be available this summer. This indicates a period between June and September. While a specific release date hasn’t been announced yet, it’s a positive development that Samsung is sticking to a timeline for this year.
