The OneXSugar Sugar 1 has made its global debut after first appearing through a crowdfunding campaign earlier this summer. Now available via OneXPlayer’s online store, the device takes a unique approach to portable gaming with its flexible form factor and dual display setup.
OneXSugar Sugar 1 features dual OLED screens

Unlike other handhelds, the Sugar 1 can transform between two postures: a conventional horizontal handheld or a dual-screen design. This versatility is enabled by movable controller elements, letting players switch layouts depending on the game or task.
Key hardware highlights include:
- Dual OLED displays
- Hall effect joysticks for smoother control
- 5,600 mAh battery
- Snapdragon G3 Gen 3 chipset
- 16 GB RAM + 512 GB UFS 4.0 storage
The Snapdragon G3 Gen 3 stands out, offering far more power than the Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 found in rivals such as the Ayaneo Pocket EVO.
Pricing and configurations
At launch, the OneXSugar Sugar 1 starts at $699, which is $100 more than its Indiegogo price. Buyers can choose between black or white finishes, but the configuration is fixed 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage only.
One-Netbook, the company behind OneXPlayer, expects to begin shipping orders from September 30.
A curious step for handheld gaming
With its dual display concept and flexible controls, the OneXSugar Sugar 1 carves out a space between standard handhelds and experimental designs. It won’t be for everyone, but for players who like their hardware bold and unconventional, this $699 device offers something rare in today’s gaming market.
