Vivo has confirmed the OriginOS 6 global release, with testing already underway for international users. The Android 16-based skin made its debut in China but is now heading to wider markets through a limited Preview Program.
OriginOS 6 global release starts with closed beta

The first global devices to test OriginOS 6 are the Vivo X200 Pro and iQOO 13. Both brands kicked off a Closed Beta under the name “Preview Program.” To join, users must head to System Update, tap ‘Version Trial,’ then complete a registration form under ‘Closed Beta Sign-Up.’
OriginOS 6 global release skips some key models for now
In China, more devices already have beta access, including the X200 Ultra, the rest of the X200 lineup, and the X Fold5. Those foldables are often compared with rivals like the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Oppo Find N5. Even so, international testing remains limited, for now.
Preview Program opens, but full rollout is still unclear
Vivo and iQOO have confirmed the full OriginOS 6 global release is set for October 15. Still, the rollout roadmap is missing. No full list of supported devices has been published, leaving many users in the dark about upgrade timing.
OriginOS 6 beta highlights teased by Vivo
While the full changelog hasn’t dropped, Vivo teased some key improvements over OriginOS 5. These include:
- Smoother animations
- Smarter background app handling
- Upgraded multitasking UI
- Visual tweaks to widgets and themes
Early videos shared by Vivo suggest a stronger focus on polish and performance over flashy redesigns.
Not flashy, but focused
The OriginOS 6 global release isn’t flashy yet, but it’s focused. With the Preview Program expanding and a firm release date locked in, more users will soon get their first taste of Android 16, the Vivo way.
