Sony has increased the price of the digital version of the PlayStation 5 in Europe. The company justified this price increase with high inflation, fluctuations in exchange rates and global economic uncertainties. The new prices will come into effect as of April 14. This increase will apply to European countries as well as the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand.
PlayStation 5 prices increased in Europe
With the new increase, the recommended retail price of the PS5 Digital Edition in Europe has increased to 499.99 euros. This means an increase of approximately 50 euros compared to the previous price. In the UK, the price of the same model increased from 389.99 pounds to 429.99 pounds.

However, no changes were made to the prices of the standard PS5 model with optical drive and the PS5 Pro, which was released last year. In the statement made by Sony, it was emphasized that the uncertainties in global trade policies and the customs tariff applications of the United States against some countries were particularly effective in this decision.
As part of the trade decisions announced by US President Donald Trump at the beginning of this month, new tariffs were on the agenda for more than 180 countries. Although some products such as smartphones were temporarily exempted, there is a general increase in costs in the technology sector.
There is no change in PS5 prices in Turkey for now. However, Sony stated that there may be price changes in some countries in the EMEA region, which covers Europe, the Middle East and Africa. So what do you think about this issue? You can share your views with us in the comments section below.
